Abstract Working on quasi‐static phase‐field fracture modeling in nearly incompressible solids for crack propagation is a challenging task. To avoid arising locking effects therein, mixed form the solid displacement equation developed, resulting two unknowns: field and hydro‐static pressure variable. In order to fulfil an inf‐sup condition, stable Taylor‐Hood elements are employed displacement‐pressure system. The irreversibility condition of evolution handled by help primal‐dual active set method. get both sharper reasonable computational costs, adaptive meshes used based predictor‐corrector scheme. paths from numerical simulations compared experimentally observed carbon black filled ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber strips. punctured EPDM strips with hole given notch at different heights stretched till total failure.
